This is just stinkin’ funny. Makes me think back to when I was in church as a kid. No, I was not raised in a black church, but it just made me think about some of the things that went on in the Baptist church I was raised in.
Yesterday I said that I was looking for some church announcement examples for different creative teams at the church. By clicking here, you can go to Atlanta City Churches Youtube channel and watch the way they do announcements. My favorite is this one .
I was searching through Youtube this morning looking for churches that put their announcements and message promos up for viewing. I will be posting some of them later, so media team people and creative team members and anyone that reads this blog can look at what other churches are doing with media. There is some good inspirational stuff out there. While I was doing this I came across this. This is from Buckheads’ switching board, with the audio from the director. I am probably the only person not involved directly with Buckheads’ production team that will be excited by this. They set up a camera in the control room and then fed it live during the service to the web. AWESOME! I have heard lately from different sources especially for youth, if we do not use media to the max, we are dropping the ball so big! Todays’ world is driven by media. We have to use media in the church if we want to reach todays culture. Can God reach people without media, sure, but why do it without media, when it is right there just waiting for us to use it.
This post has gotten waaaaaay out of hand. I have a pile of thoughts just bouncing around in my mind and can’t get them organized right now. So be on the look out in the next few days for more on the subject of media in the church.
Back to the video of the production room at Buckhead. Listen close to what the director is saying and how many cameras that are being switched in between. Chances are the director is not punching all the buttons. There are probably one or two people actually punching the buttons to change the cameras and the director is just…..directing. My point is this, years ago the setup they are running would have only been found at a big tv station or a televised sporting event, etc….not on a Sunday morning at a CHURCH!
I come across this video of the song “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley. The video is amazing as far as animation goes. The song is pretty good too. Watching the video made me think about how things in life change-constantly. I have talked about change in here before. I am to a point that I accept change in my life, I just don’t feel like I am doing all I can to use change in my life. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, enjoy the video.
I know I have been putting alot of video from other churches, but there is some good stuff out there. This video is 17 minutes long. It is the edited down version of Buckhead churches Good Friday service. No speaking, just music and video and words on the screen. Watch the guys in front working on the painting. It is awesome.
Creativity + The Word of God = Awesome.
I was making the rounds of the creative blogs I read and come up on a picture in a spoken word montage of Juan Mann. He is a guy in Sydney that takes one day a week and gives out free hugs. I remembered seeing a video of him a year or so ago set to the song, “All the Same”, by the Sick Puppies. I watched it again and got hit in the face by some things and ended up with these big tears coming down my face and Josh walking into my office and catching me in a “moment” as my mom calls them. I know this would be cause for me to loose my man card but hey, I lost that mug months ago and have been enjoying life with out it.
Enough babbling for now, watch the video and leave me alone, now where did I put that tissue!
Just got through video taping Josh and John in the middle of a road in the middle of no where out on Boyette past tower city. All I can say right now is get ready. Starting Easter Sunday there is going to be a series of announcement skits that are going to be fall down on the floor spitting out milk through your nose funny.
Pastor Steven Furtick is doing a series called, “My Generation”. There are two different openings involving a lady from the older generation and a teenager from the next generation. Until now I have not laugh this hard in a long time. The link will take you to the media player with series listed to the right. You want to click on, Another Generation, and Give me my Mountain. LINK.
Later.
In the post before this one I stated that I love watching good video. This is the announcements for this week from Buckhead church. They are a satelite campus of Northpoint Community Church, which is Andy Stanleys’ church. The production is done at Northpoint for Buckhead, but they also have their own production department, you can read their blog here.
Ok, I know what you are thinking, Scott has not posted in 2 months and now he is making up for it. Yes and no. This is what I was originally going to post and after I read Pastor Michaels’ post today, I had to brag on my kids first and then post this.
So back to what was going to be my original post, I love good video, if it involves special effects or just good editing and content. I came accross this trailer on another blog and thought I would share.
