Dude, It’s a Harley in the church!

July 20, 2008

Today was a great day at CFAN.  I watched leaders, myself included, take care of problems, nothing major, but things that I have seen shut other church leaders down, take care of business on a Sunday morning.  Thank you Pastor for training and teaching us to be leaders and handle problems, even the little ones.

Now for the fun stuff.  Which will come later.  I am having to wait for some of the sites that I have loaded the video up on to get it processed.  But I can leave you with this. Yep, it is a Harley on our stage at CFAN.  I will have video in the next few hours or days.

Stay tuned.

Questioning Why I Do What I Do

June 20, 2008

Now don’t get me wrong this video I am linking this blog too today is AWESOME.  It makes me jealous, it makes me question my abilities and why I can’t have this kind of creativity.  Although it does stir my passion for creating pieces to reach people for God.  But still this video is awesome.  It is at least 6 layers, it took over 2 weeks and yes it is the same guy, and I bet he has a ear piece in his right ear that is connected to an ipod with a click track playing on it.  It does not matter how it was created just the fact that it was created.

Enjoy.

Creativity-WOW!

June 13, 2008

Was reading this guys’ blog. I have gotten video off of his blog before and today is no different. These two commercials are just dripping with creativity.  The one with the car took several weeks, 600 takes and no compute graphics.  The one with the foam is just beautiful.  I love video!

June Member Profile

June 9, 2008

Just got through taping this family,

for this months’ member profile. And for it being their first time in front of a video camera as a family, they did great!  They are easy to work with and fun to be around.  Look for them making their debut this coming Sunday.

Life is Good.

June 4, 2008

Yesterday at the Tuesday morning staff meeting I proceeded to turn on my laptop Mac. Well, if you have read Pastors’ blog you know that it did not come on.  Well, also through this I made a comment about I only had to take it in to the Apple store and they would fix it.  Weeeeell, I found out that I did not buy the extended warranty.  So, to get the laptop fixed I would have to shell out some money, (boy was my wife ticked!).

When I tried to cut the computer on at Pastors’ it would make a sound like it does when you have to update the processor.  After I found out I did not have the warranty and the computer is over 1 year old the manufactures warranty is gone, I tried to cut it back on.  It did the same thing, so I cut it off and restarted it and this time I held the power button down like you do when updating.  It did the same thing it had been doing, so I set it out of the way and let it just do its thing.  After a while I looked over and it was on and looked normal.  I cut it off, rebooted it and am now typing in this entry on it.  Obviously when I had it on Sunday morning doing some stuff for church I down loaded some updates and did not realized I had to go through the update reboot thing.

It is crazy that I went from up to down to up to down over a piece of metal, yeah an expensive piece of metal, but still just a piece of metal.

Good Quote.

June 4, 2008

Got caught up in the blog chain today.  Started reading one blog, linked to another, then another and then another. Found this quote that brings some things together that me and Pastor have been discussing about church advertising over the past 5 years.

Between the signs, the direct mail pieces, and the movie screen ads at the theater, chances are much better that when you invite someone, they’ll have heard of Tapestry before.”
-richard sims, tapestry church

I have always thought the internet is the way to go.  But you have to have something to get people to your website.  If people don’t know about your website they are not going to go there, same thing applies to your church.

June 1, 2008

Today we had the debut of our “video before”, where Sara talks about things like, Kids’ ministry, some church history, what to expect in our service and other things CFAN. I put it on with the announcements because when it was shown there was not a whole lot of people watching it, lol.  So, click here and let me know what you think.

CFANs’ Announcements

May 30, 2008

On this blog I have put links to other churches’ openings, announcements, and production blogs,(Buckhead ROCKS!).  So I thought it was about time to put some of our announcements on the blog. This is one of my favorites.  We were at my office, I told John and Josh we needed to do something that did not take a lot of work.  The rest is history, Bethany and Sarah did a great job too. Click here for a good laugh.

Ya’ll have a good weekend and a Great Sunday.
